This provision in Animal Proposal 1-28 was incorporated into the approved protocol, first produced under FOIA on November 13, 2013. Numbered B01-11, it will be made available online at the USAMRIID Reading Room.

Now what is the evidence that DOJ and FBI knew that Dr. ivins was required to monitor the rabbits?

Well, the FBI provably had Lab Notebook 4241 — and did not, would not, return it to USAMRIID after obtaining it from Ivins.

It was withheld from USAMRIID until after Dr. Ivins’ suicide.

    That Notebook specified the protocol.

That protocol — judging from this draft of the protocol that I obtained under FOIA — specified that the principal investigators participate in the observation of the rabbits for the first seven days after the October 1, 2001 parenteral challenge.

This isn’t rocket science, Rachel, Lawrence, Ed and Vahid.

But even if it were, Rep. Rush Holt, who was on the House intelligence committee, could see that y’all seem to be blowing smoke with your conclusory assertions and spin.

For Vahid to repeat the spin a half decade later rather than having obtained the documents is really wrongheaded.

Dr. Majidi had from July 2008 to February 2010 to ask for a chronology as established by the contemporaneous documents of how Dr. Ivins spent his time in the last week of September and first week of October. Such a chronology should have had the actual documents attached in an appendix.

Dr. Ivins was required to continue observations of the rabbits for 7 days after after the October 1 challenge. I believe that this was the period almost all of them died.

Does Dr. Majid or someone else want to argue, as a fallback position, that Dr. Ivins was good at multi-tasking? Fine. Bring it. But first stop the BS argument he had no reason to be in the lab.

Then put the 52 rabbits in the suite. Obtain the very best contemporaneous documents as to the animal care procedures done and a time-study. And as Martin Hugh-Jones suggests, go in to the lab and try to grow and powderize the anthrax by doing the work with the 52 rabbits that the evidence says was a one-person job that would take a couple of hours on the nights and weekends.
