In trying to figure where Frontline came up with the number 4384, I see this list I obtained under FOIA in August 2011. So the nature and status of 4384 is unclear to me. Perhaps Frontline identified it from some other document.
In any event, this morning I asked AUSA Lieber only for those remaining notebooks identified by Ivins in his April 2007 email. They are highly relevant even if not from September and October 2001 because they may identify prior transfers of Ames. (Note that they were relevant to the FBI which chose to keep them).

Documents Sought
From materials gathered in the Amerithrax investigation, I seek to obtain a copy of Dr. Bruce Ivins’
(1) Notebook 4240 “Immunization of rabbits at Covance for antiserum – 18 SEP and 16 OCT”.
and
(2) Notebook 4241 re “Receipt of 30 vials of rPA from _________ on 30 SEP”
The FOIA person at USAMRIID (CIV USA MEDCOM USAMRMC Rogers <sandra.rogers@us.army.mil ) advises me that FBI took the notebook without leaving a copy and thus it is not available for USAMRIID to produce.
For your convenience and expedition of the request, note that I believe the notebooks were processed as part of Request # 1135601 by requestor MARC GOLD. He was provided 5,649 pages in response to his 8/172009 request for Ivins/ Laboratory Material. Alternatively, the previous month, Marc Gold in connection with a request dated July 20, 2009 was provided 3,370 pages on July 28, 2009 — again for Ivins/ Laboratory Material.
Thank you for your expedited assistance in this matter as we approach the anniversary of 9/11.
Fee Waiver Sought
The purpose of this request is to show what Dr. Ivins was doing in the lab when the AUSA speculated, without basis (in my opinion), that he was making a dried powdered anthrax. The issue whether the DOJ's speculation was correct — or instead is contradicted by the documentary evidence being withheld — involves a national security threat that warrants the request being given priority. See generally Senator Leahy's "Faster FOIA Act."
I publish all FOIA material the day I receive it online at a blog "CaseClosed" that is approaching 200,000 hits. The blog, widely read by news reporters, focuses on whether the DOJ is correct in its conclusion that Bruce Ivins mailed the dried powdered anthrax rather than US-based operatives of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and supporters of Blind Sheikh Abdel-Rahman.
Disclosure of the documents showing what Dr. Bruce Ivins was doing in the lab in late September 2001 and early October 2001 (relating to the experiments involving rabbits and not making dried powdered anthrax) are strongly in the public interest. I have no money to pay the DOJ for uploading the documents that they removed from USAMRIID, thus preventing them from being produced. The documents directly conflict with the assertions by the DOJ in the Amerithrax Investigative Summary dated February 2010.
If the documents were produced to Sandra at USAMRIID, USAMRIID could upload the notebooks with the 9 notebooks they have uploaded.
Expedition sought
The threat that Dr. Ayman Zawahiri will use anthrax against US targets — as was announced by Egyptian Islamic Jihad shura members Al-Najjar and Mabruk and the Blind Sheik Abdel-Rahman's lawyer Montasser Al-Zayat — is a continuing one. The 9/11 anniversary is approaching and documents taken from Bin Laden's residence indicate that he was planning an attack scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of 9/11 in two weeks.
