Capitol Hill police beat extends far outside Washington
‘Lone wolf’ attackers is a main focus

Days after 9/11, letters laced with anthrax began arriving at news outlets and congressional offices. Several of Reynolds’ officers feared they had inhaled the deadly bacteria and were issued antibiotics. “That was pretty scary,” he said. “That pretty much shut the Capitol down.” Now all congressional mail is screened for anthrax.

Did They Ever Figure Out Who Did That Whole Anthrax Attack Thing?
    By Luke O’Neil

“No matter, though, because in 2006 another potential suspect was finally uncovered in Ivins, a scientist at the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. The FBI found genetic similarities between the anthrax used in the attacks and the kind Ivins was working with in his lab. Case closed part two. Except aside from some superficial similarities in the mutations, and a weird circumstantial theory about Ivins’ admittedly peculiar obsession with a Virginia sorority for the past few decades (from whose vicinity one of the letters was mailed) the FBI didn’t have any actual hard evidence. What it did have, was testimony from his colleagues and supervisors saying that, even had he wanted to, Ivins couldn’t have produced that much anthrax to carry out the attacks.

A funny thing happened next though, haha, the FBI decided it had enough to charge him anyway. A sad conclusion to the 9/11 era, but a much-needed one. Or, you know, it might have been as much had Ivins not killed himself in 2008 with an overdose of painkillers. The evil, America-hating scientist with a vast knowledge of weapons-grade poison at his disposal took his own life with Tylenol, incidentally. A cruel irony, or a hackneyed twist?

It was either a sad tale of a man hounded by the government cracking under the pressure, perhaps, or of a government agency doing its imperfect best to solve a complicated case, depending on how you look at it.”

Anthrax mailing suspect Adnan El-Shukrijumah, son of a salaried Saudi missionary, was at this Sarasota, FL home with his accomplice, 911 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta. There will be a press conference tomorrow.

    As Thomas Daschle once said:

“If we can’t even figure out how it was that they enacted the threats or moved through that attack, and if we can’t evaluate why we were as vulnerable as we were — if we can’t evaluate how it was the last 9/11 happened — how is it that we can prepare for the next one?”

Politicians push to declassify censored 9/11 reports
    By Paul SperryJanuary 4, 2015

The drive to declassify the 28 censored pages of the congressional 9/11 report detailing the Saudi Arabian government’s possible role in the terror attacks has become a full-blown movement, complete with letter-writing campaigns, lawsuits and legislation.

On Wednesday, the former co-chairman of the panel that produced the heavily-redacted 2002 report will hold a Capitol Hill press conference calling for its complete release. Former Democratic Sen. Bob Graham will join Reps. Walter Jones (R-NC) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), as well as 9/11 families, to demand President Obama shine light on the entire blanked-out Saudi section.

Graham claims the redaction is part of an ongoing “coverup” of the role of Saudi officials in the 9/11 plot. He maintains the Saudi hijackers got financial aid and other help from the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles and the Saudi embassy in Washington, as well as from wealthy Sarasota, Fla., patrons tied to the Saudi royal family.
Jones and Lynch say they will reintroduce their resolution urging Obama to declassify the information in the newly seated Congress. The bipartisan bill has attracted 21 co-sponsors, including 10 Republicans and 11 Democrats, since first introduced 12 months ago.

The FBI engaged in wide-ranging speculation about Ivins might have been motivated to target Senator Daschle.

On the other hand, Dr. Ayman Zawahiri explained his motivation — which had been a stated intention — in a book published October 7, 2001.

Daschle Demands Support for Israel; Says U.S. Stance Must Be absolute.(NATION)

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle yesterday said U.S. backing for Israel must remain “absolute,” and he criticized European, Arab and U.N. officials for anti-Semitism and unfairness toward the Jewish state.

“Our commitment to Israel must be unshakable – it must be absolute,” he told a luncheon crowd of several thousand at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the country?s largest pro-Israel lobbying group.

“The United States must honor a commitment to preserve Israel’s military superiority,” he said.

Wasn’t Yazid Sufaat the processor? He does not deny it when I questioned him extensively. He pled the Fifth Amendment and said he did what he did for the love of islam.

Rauf Ahmad had said he had made contacts and learned processing tricks (at the Porton Down-sponsored “Dangerous Pathogens” conferences which all the Russian and USAMRIID and Porton Down scientists attended in 1999 and 2000). Processing tricks travel in the mind of an individual.
