SHSU prof’s book, ‘Killing Congress,’ details attacks on legislators
    By Carol Christian | July 30, 2014

“Killing Congress: Assassinations, Attempted Assassinations and Other Violent Acts Against Members of Congress” is co-authored by Willard Oliver of Sam Houston State, and Nancy E. Marion of the University of Akron in Ohio.

Other notable attacks against Congress include an anthrax scare in September 2011, when someone mailed deadly anthrax spores to two Democratic senators, Tom Daschle of South Dakota and Tom Leahy of Vermont, as well as several media outlets. The senators were not injured, but five other people died in the incident.
