My understanding NOW is 4384 was not one the FBI had. It is not on the list contained in Dr. Ivins’ April 20, 2007 email. On the phone just now, Lauren says they got it from seeing it mentioned in the documents. Perhaps it was not his notebook but the notebook of a colleague. I don’t know but will have to check to see what it was. If the FBI doesn’t have it, then I think USAMRIID would have it. For example, maybe it was started by Pat.
I hope Frontline can go back to the April 20, 2007 email and get these others. 3655, 3760, 3945, 4010 (those pages not yet produced), 4037, and 4282. They likely will have the same success with the others in the April 2007 email (and I think they will tend to reflect transfers of Ames). As I’ve often said, one of the transfers was to a former Zawahiri associate. Dr. Ayman will have to come to my weekly Scrabble club before anyone takes it to heart.
Unfortunately, the government takes years to get anything done. But it is silly to think the United States government can keep the public safe if it takes them 4 years to produce Dr. Ivins’ contemporaneous notes from the B3 the week of the mailings when they claimed he had no reason to be in the lab.
I don’t really care one way or the other. I would think that the folks living in a major city like DC, NYC or Boston would.
