Amerithrax represents the greatest failure of intelligence analysis in United States history. The claim by a US Attorney that the lyophilizer was used — when it was not even in the B3 — is an example of how the DOJ seriously dropped the ball.in its analysis.
But after DTRA and DIA first dropped the ball (and you’ll recall that USAMRIID never had control of the ball), the CIA and DOJ and poorly suited Postal Inspectors just ran after the ball, kicking it forward and never gaining control of the ball.
$100 million dollars later the FBI does not offer any credible evidence or a coherent, plausible theory as to means, motive, and opportunity.
Even though Dr. Ivins had the largest repository of Ames in the country, the FBI (judging by the documents produced to date) did not even obtain the records of the Egyptian foreign national working with him for 3-4 days in the B3 until Spring 2005!
