Ivins suggested that DARPA set up a trailer off site that used a fermenter to grow the spores. One of the DARPA-funded researchers with whom he worked was a former Zawahiri associate. (I emailed Tarek to corroborate my information and reporting but he did not respond).
What do the DTRA and Battelle people say about whether a trailer was ever used to grow the spores? USAMRIID management reportedly quashed the short-lived dried aerosol research at USAMRIID due to dual use perception problems.
But was it done off-site instead?
