Is there any way to get what the US knows about Pakistan and 9/11 divulged by FOIA? Or Pakistan’s financial situation before 9/11?

“”In September 2001, Pakistan was a pariah state, shunned by the outside world, one of the few countries to recognise the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and on the verge of economic collapse. ”
Even if Pakistan had no foreknowledge or gave assistance before, al Qaeda and the Taliban had a motive to keep Pakistan from having to give them up to get IMF loans and lift sanctions. Moreover, al Qaeda had an interest in Pakistan keeping its nukes and spreading them to Muslim states. Those were al Qaeda’s war aims on 9/11.
Regardless of Pakistan’s prior knowledge, when 9/11 happened, Pakistan adopted these al Qaeda war aims as Pakistan’s war aims and got them for assistance against al Qaeda, which turned out to be a sham.

There is no indication that DOJ is expediting FOIA requests — for example, there has been no letter (not even assignment of a number to the request) received in response to the request for the 9/17/2001 so that we could know what time is shown. Thus, given that USAMRIID denies that it was sent from Ivins’ work computer, it is not possible to flesh out the timeline for the day further.

The cache of electronic and handwritten materials obtained by the SEALs includes numerous hallmark al Qaeda plots including attacks on infrastructure targets such as water supply and transportation including rail and air, in what one official described as a “strategic guide for how to attack the U.S.” In the past, al Qaeda planned for attacks on water supplies have included an interest in mining dams and in poisoning water supply. Intelligence experts have also have found what appears to be information about safe houses around the world and about al Qaeda leadership.
The materials make clear that while at times in the past it has been suggested that dates are not a factor in Al Qaeda attack planning, in fact, one of the terror group’s aspirations was to launch attacks on symbolic dates like Sept. 11, in hopes of giving even greater resonance to any success.

“A law enforcement official with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that the envelopes contained a letter referring to al-Qaida and the FBI and that the white powder had the look and consistency of cornstarch. The official was not authorized to release the information and spoke on condition of anonymity.”

Comment: This is very anomalous because it violates the koran and hadiths to even so much as threaten children. If it turns out to have be a salafist-jihadist, it would be one that neither has access to anthrax nor education or religious training.
